We’re excited to welcome Jaqueline D. Pateguana as the new National Coordinator for the A4AI-Mozambique Coalition. Jaqueline’s new role was announced last week at the coalition’s quarterly meeting in Maputo, which also featured the national launch the 2017 Affordability Report and a short report of findings and recommendations specific to Mozambique. As National Coordinator, Jaqueline is responsible for guiding the coalition’s efforts to advance affordable internet access in Mozambique, supporting working groups to deliver their outputs, and serving as an advocate for A4AI and the implementation of the coalition’s policy recommendations.
Jaqueline joins A4AI with over seven years of experience working in Mozambique’s ICT sector, and is currently Advisor to Mozambique’s Minister of Transport & Communications. She previously served as as Deputy Project Coordinator for Mozambique eGovernment and Infrastructure Communications Project (MEGCIP), part of the World Bank’s Regional Communications Infrastructure Project.
Remarking on the appointment of Jaqueline as National Coordinator for Mozambique, A4AI Executive Director Sonia Jorge said:
“We are delighted to have the opportunity for Jaqueline to lead A4AI’s digital inclusion efforts in Mozambique. Jaqueline has supported the work of the A4AI Mozambique Coalition since its launch and I look forward to working with her more closely to promote the affordability agenda in Mozambique, Africa, and beyond.”
