The GSMA will be hosting two exciting events this month: Mobile 360–Africa, taking place October 7-9 in Cape Town, and Mobile 360 – North America, taking place October 27-29 in Atlanta.
A4AI Deputy Director, Kojo Boakye, and Africa Regional Coordinator, Onica Makwakwa, will be in Cape Town to attend Mobile 360–Africa. The event will feature a number of presentations and panel discussions, looking at a wide range of topics relevant to the region, including ICT policy and mobile service availability, affordability, and relevance. Ingrid Brudvig, the Web Foundation’s Women’s Rights Research and Advocacy Coordinator, will participate in a panel on Wednesday, October 7 looking at the barriers to mobile phone connectivity for women and ways to significantly increase women’s access to mobile phones.
From October 27-29, the GSMA will host the North America edition of their Mobile 360 Series in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. The event will feature case study presentations, pitches, and demonstrations, and will allow mobile leaders to share industry developments, network with peers, and discuss key issues related to mobile technology in North America – the fastest growing adopter of mobile products and services.
